Today, we performed our Yearly Dell scheduled SAN maintenance.
The process was fairly straight forward, as all the flare codes on the DAEs were up to date, as well as the Brocade switch firmware.
We only updated the QLogic Card firmware through the SANSurfer:
- Open QLogic Management Suite / SANSurfer
- Click Connect on Localhost
- Click on Port1 –> “Utilities” tab
- Click “Update Flash” and click yes on the warning box
- Browse to the firmwarein D:\Downloads QLogic Drivers\qla2340 and choose the file in there.
- Enter the password: “Config”
- Do the same for Port2.
- Open Device Manager: Expand “SCSI and RAID Controllers”
- Right click on QLogic Fiber Channel Adapter
- Select “Update Driver”
- Browser to: D:\Downloads\QLogic Drivers\Windows\e2xxxw32Storv91716
- Do the same for the second one.
Follow the same process above for the hosts that have a FiberChannel adapter on them.
- CITRIX-FS-1, CVSQL1 and CVSQL2 were rebooted in that order at 4:20pm.
- Cluster was reverted back to CVSQL2 after reboot.
- Verified all systems functional.
