I went ahead and changed the IP address on 202-dc1 to 10.40.87.1.
All my attempts to change the IP on mjh-easy to a different IP have failed. There is something seriously wrong with the NIC, and the machine crashes anytime you access the network preferences for the NIC. I even tried to update the drivers for the network adapter (from home…that was a “think twice” operation before pushing “enter” :) ) Unfortunately, this didn’t fix it.
In order not to delay the move to the new server, I went ahead and shutdown mjh-easy, and moved the IP to 202-dc1.
mjh-easy, has been successfully demoted from the domain however, so there no issues there.
All network functionality, AD and DNS replication have been verified to work correctly.
Please bring back mjh-easy to the DO, and, maybe we can put another NIC in it temporarily to grab whatever is still needed from it.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but there was no other way.
