New LANDesk Agent with Antivirus now available

Finally got around to creating the 2 agents with the Antivirus configurations. We’re still not sure whether we’re going to be exclusively using this agent (for the Helpdesk to deploy), at least until a PO is submitted for it.

Here are the technical details:

• There are now two additional agents on the LANDesk console Scheduled Tasks:
  • Common Tasks/Agent and Administrative/CVUSD Workstation Agent and Antivirus
  • Common Tasks/Agent and Administrative/CVUSD Server Agent and Antivirus
• In http://LANDesk/Agent
  • Windows_Agents/Windows_Agent_and_Antivirus.exe
  • Windows_Agents/Windows_Agent_and_Antivirus_with_status.exe
  • Admin_Agents/CVUSD_Server_and_Antivirus.exe
  • Admin_Agents/CVUSD_Server_and_Antivirus_with_status.exe
• In http://setup
  • The agents all point to the http://LANDesk/Agent page, and got updated accordingly. I added one additional entry that directly downloads the Workstation LANDesk Agent with Antivirus for your convenience.

The main difference between the workstation and the sever agent is that the server agent does not perform real time or spyware scanning of files. It also does regular full scans at 11:00pm instead of 11:00am, as servers are usually on overnight, but workstations may not be.
