433-server01 now 433-dc1

Last night I migrated 433-server01 to 433-dc1, which will be the final home for Cal Aero’s server. Following are the changes worth noting:

  • DHCP is now residing and operational on 433-dc1. The service has been disabled on 433-server01.
  • The user data that used to temporarily reside on \\do-fs2\user$\PRESERVE\User and \\do-fs2\user$\PRESERVE\Group has now been relocated to its permanent home, following the regular conventions: \\433-dc1\user$\(staff/teachers/students) , and \\433-dc1\group$\(DropBox/Office/Shared)
The data on do-fs2 for this site is no longer accessible to these users, in order to avoid confusion.
  • The login scripts have been updated to point to the new location. If users are having problems getting to their share, please have them reboot their machine.
  • The printer migration script has been put into effect, so any old pointers to old printers should get migrated over to the new server.
  • The IP of the server is still 10.41.63.2. We need to move it to 10.41.63.1. I’m not sure what is required to move the DeepFreeze service to the new server. Whoever is responsible to do this, please go ahead and install the DeepFreeze service on the new server, and let me know so that I may decomission 433-server01, and re-assign its IP to the new server.

For any additional questions. please contact me.
