I’ve been working on moving the DoubleTake service from the old cvsql2 to do-sql (the new SQL server), and in the process, I had to upgrade to the latest version. (5.2.2), as this is the only version that actually works on Windows 2008 R2 64bit server.
Unfortunately, SBCSS is currently on version 5.1.0, and that version is not compatible with version 5.2.2, as it uses different ports and other things. Since their server is the target server, they need to be at the highest version to accommodate source servers (do-sql) at the 5.2.2 version. Fortunately for other school districts, they won’t have to upgrade their DoubleTake just for us, however we are currently having to wait for SBCSS to upgrade their version of DoubleTake to 5.2.2 so that we are replicating the Aeries database again.
They currently do not seem to have support with DoubleTake (I don’t understand how that is possible, given they have so many school districts relying on them for replication), so I had to download the newest version of the software and send it to them for installation.
Our Viatron DoubleTake is currently still replicating, as it is still running on Windows 2003 Server with DoubleTake version 5.1.1.
Will post another update as soon as DoubleTake is functional again on do-sql.
