When we initially established the UMRA system, we had decided to keep student accounts in disabled state when they leave the district, at least throughout the school year.
Unfortunately, since our retention policy is so long, we are regularly running out of UMRA licenses to perform the daily tasks.
For this reason, I am forced to shorted the student account retention to 3 months only.
This means that if a student comes back, or needs their data, 3 months or longer after they had left the district, they may OR may not be able to recover their account.
This has not been issue thus far, but I wanted everyone (especially the helpdesk) to be aware of it, in case they are ever asked.
Bottom line: Active Directory student account retention after the student has left the district has been reduced to 3 months from 1 year.
