Since we have been doing some successful patching on the labs with KACE, I have decided to start doing the same on our servers.
For now, I have enabled the patch scheduling on all district servers through KACE. The 3 exceptions (in the virtual infrastructure), are POSTAL, DO-VIATRON, and DO-SQL. These are too missions critical to automate all the updates on them. I will still create a patch job for them, but will make it so that it has to be triggered manually whenever desired.
I will be setting up the next batch of patching to target all the servers at the sites as well.
I am keeping record of all the patch schedules in the same spreadsheet where the lab patch schedules exist: \\do-fs1\group$\technology\Information Services\Frequently Used Files\CVUSD_Lab_Patching_Schedules.xlsx. I create a new sheet called "Servers".
Currently, the patching for servers will happen on Saturdays at 3:15am
