DO-DC1 Demoted

On Sunday afternoon, I went ahead and demoted do-dc1. I have not done any more things than just this particular task for now, as to make sure we are able to track any issues that may come up, and keep the variables to a minimum. After the environment settled, it looked like all servers have re-recognized their DNS entries, and all dashboards are green.

I have made a big effort to change the DNS pointers on every single server we have at the district. (Those include all virtual servers), and all physicals that I know of.

If there are any issues with accessing any services or seeing some weird issues, please do check the DNS servers to make sure that they're not pointing to 10.40.55.10. If they are, just remove the 10.40.55.10, and put any one or two of the following: 10.40.55.2, 10.40.55.8, and/or 10.40.55.19.

The next step in this process will be change the AD schema to 2008 R2, after which, I will also wait a couple of days to make sure we don't have any issues. The and the last step that will begin the move of our infrastructure to 2008 R2, will happen right after that, bringing back do-dc1 as a 2008 R2 server, and the first Domain Controller within that schema.
