Over the weekend, I went ahead and P2V'ed the primary STUDENT2 domain controller which was still running on a PowerEdge 1850, with a failed drive due to our latest power outage. Since this server can no longer be supported by Dell (too old), I decided to retire it.
After a lot of fighting with DNS and NTFRS, the new server is now up and running, and AD should be functional with no problems for the STUDENT2 domain.
There is no action required on your part, this is just informational, and so that you know where that server resides.
In the next few days, and after I verify that the migration of this server has re-integrated successfully in the environment, I will be doing the same with do-studc.student.chino.k12.ca.us, which is the primary DC for the STUDENT domain.
