WINS Database being rebuilt

I placed a call for Microsoft today for the issue of the CVUSD domain not resolving upon nslookup, or pings.

As part of the process, we discovered that our WINS database had a lot of corruption in it, and the main database is still pointing to 10.40.55.8 (which no longer exists) as its default WINS server. This is causing some lookups to fail obviously.

As a result, we had to destroy the old database, and create a new one to get rid of the corruptions.

The process isn’t yet fully complete. At this point, do-dc1, and do-dc2 are acting as independent WINS servers. Tomorrow we will reconvene and re-establish them as link partners, and continue troubleshooting the issue with the default WINS server. More to come on this.
