Over the weekend, I made some changes to some domain controllers.
cvusd-do-dc1 , which used to be the last 2000 Domain Controller at the DO, and the authoritative time server (NTP) is now powered off.
Since we have a lot of servers and workstations configured to use 10.40.55.19 as a time server, I have moved that IP over to do-dc3, which was already up and running. The IP 10.40.55.5 is no longer being used by do-dc3.
In addition, I have installed DNS, and WINS on do-dc3 so that it can take over the functionality that cvusd-do-dc1 used to perform prior to its decommissioning.
The AD environment maybe get a bit confused for the next couple of days, as there was shuffling of DNS names and IPs of already existing servers. This should hopefully resolve itself as replication happens across all AD domain controllers.
Meanwhile, if you see some weird behavior that may be caused to the time server, please let me know, and I will investigate.
