UMRA Update: 10.4 Build 1623: in production

A new update for UMRA has been put in production this morning.

a. If you ever use the UMRA console, then you will need to update that to the latest version. You can do a repair or modify install to update. The installer can be found here

caution: if you start UMRA Console before updating, you will get an option to DOWNGRADE the service. do not do this. Instead, just upgrade your client and you’ll be back in business.

b. If you only use the UMRA Forms interface only, and are already pointing your shortcut to \\do-tech\utils\UMRAForms , then you don’t need to do anything. The Forms client has already been updated.

c. If you have UMRA Forms installed on your workstation, you will need to update that. I have created a small batch file that will do this for you, you can run that updater here

Since I don’t know exactly who has the client installed locally, and since the most efficient and track-able way for UMRA forms is to be run through a central location, if the helpdesk gets any calls that a user’s UMRA Forms is throwing an error on launch, it means that their client is not yet updated. At this time, it would be beneficial to switch the users over from a local installation ( c ) to a central installation ( b ). To do this, just copy over the UMRA Forms Link to the user’s desktop, and uninstall “UMRA Forms” from their local workstation.
