I am at a point where I was able to write some documentation regarding the login scripts.
The current scripts that the DO and the 4 schools are currently using are fairly simple, and only do network share mapping.
The new script which I'm testing out, and getting ready to deploy will take care of all the installations for the KACE, Nod32, Dameware, and removes VNC and the LANDesk agent.
No manual intervention will be required.
You can find the documentation and the details about this in the wiki:
http://wiki.chino.k12.ca.us/operations/scripting#cvusd_scripting
I strongly advise that you go through it. Each one of you will likely find some part of this to be useful. There are some sections that still need to be filled out pertaining to the software installations, but aren't completely necessary to know about them right now. Keep checking that section at the above link to keep updated on the new items. (You can also subscribe to the page to get an email when changes have been posted to the page)
Meanwhile, if you would like to test out the new script, all you have to do is change your login script in Active Directory from login.bat to login-pilot.bat.
I will also be targeting some random users to get the pilot script running for them to do some additional testing before I put it completely in production.
If you see any issues with the new script, I would appreciate it if you could let me know ASAP so that I can look into the problem, and fix any bugs that may exist.
