A quick update on DO-DC1. The initial repair didn't seem to work.
The next step would be to try to perform a repair install on the server. This would require the server to be down, and it is currently hosting DHCP for the district office.
In order to not create any interruptions, or - rather in the hopes of - the plan is to do the following:
- Move DHCP to do-dc4 (10.40.55.8) : Already done.
- Demote DO-DC1 from being a domain controller - so as to not allow the clients to check in with it for authentication.
- Change all DHCP scopes so as to not point to 10.40.55.10 (do-dc1) for their DNS servers: Already done.
Helpdesk, if you get any calls with a user not able to do do something within the network, or access a server, please have them just release and renew their IP, or simply reboot their machine.
Again, before demoting, I would like to hear of all related parties (Richard, especially), on whether there is anything that I may be overlooking on do-dc1. I will wait on this before proceeding.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
