DO-DC1 : problem

In performing some regular maintenance work this morning, I found out that do-dc1 is having a major problem with its WMI engine. (essentially, files are missing and/or corrupt, and permissions are the same), likely due to the abrupt power outages we've experienced in the recent past.
The practical effect in the environment from this, is that there would be some GPO problems, and potentially others.
At this point, we're not seeing any negative effects from this. I am currently attempting a few solutions, which may bring up and down do-dc1 due to reboots, and hopefully shouldn't affect user experience.
I may have to do a slightly more drastic solution by rebooting and running a windows repair on the server. If that doesn't work, then my only option would be rebuild that server from scratch, in which case, I may go ahead and upgrade our Active Directory schema to Windows 2008 R2, and introduce our first 2008 Domain Controller to the environment, and place it in the virtual cluster, given that the hardware for DO-DC1 is no longer supported under maintenance. (too old).

For those who have anything on DC1 (Richard --> FSAE?) or other services, please let me know ASAP, so that we can make sure that we move those services elsewhere in case we need to do a rebuild.

I will keep you updated with any issues that may come up of this. I will do my best to try to not affect users with this, but I can't make any promises to that.
